Elwood Franklin Adams, 83, of Lovingston, died Friday, November 1, 2024. Born in Nelson County, May 17, 1941, he was a son of the late Pollard Odell Adams and Margie Violet Hamlett Adams.
Elwood had been a truck driver for Tiger Fuel for 23 years and was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church. He loved fishing, wrestling, Nascar, drag racing, and driving trucks. However, he loved nothing better than his grandson and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Doris Jean Adams; son, Michael Wayne Adams (Tammy); grandson, Casey Wayne Adams; brother-in-law, Doug Painter; sister-in-law, Marion Adams; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Lynn Adams; brothers, Buddy Adams and Charlie Lee Adams, and his sister, Anne Painter.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024, in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. John Campbell. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home.
