Grace Thompson Bibb, 91, of Lynchburg, died Friday, September 5, 2024 at her residence. Born in Charlottesville, March 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Hampton Thompson and Lena Lee Thompson.

Grace had been the owner and operator of H&H Service Station for many years. In fact, she was one of the earliest female business owners in a male dominated world. She was also a devoted member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. 

She is survived a son, Jake Steven Bibb (Donna Faye); a devoted cousin, Juanita Beverly; grandchildren, Steven Travis Bibb and Jessica Renee Bibb; great-grandson, Gavin Wyatt Bibb; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bernard Lee Bibb Jr.; brother, Jake Lee Thompson (Colleen Stevens Thompson), and a grandson, Bernard Lee Bibb III.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all at Gentle Shepherd Hospice, and to Jennifer at Family Hair Center, for their loving care, support, and kindness shown to their loved one. 

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2024 in Mountain View Cemetery by Rev. John Campbell. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home.
