It was with great sadness that we say goodbye to Isabell Lee Carter Massie Giles who went to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. She was born February 8, 1938, to the late Leland and Jessie Tibbs Carter.
Isabell was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and prior to that, Jonesboro Baptist Church. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her children, Sarah M. Huffman, and Thomas S. Massie Jr.; her step-children, Lynn G. McClain (Mike), and Mike Giles (Patty), as well as their children and grandchildren; her grandchildren, Misty Painter (Ronnie), Massie Huffman (Darlene), Lauren Hughes (Greg), Wyatt Massie (Kayla), and Makayla Tinder (Kaleb); great-grandchildren, Amanda Goff, Coty Painter (Marti), Kirsten (Joe), Thomas (Allyson), Grace Huffman, Violet and Anne Painter, Axl and Cole Hughes, Avery Tinder, and Joya Massie; great great-grandchildren, Kye Goff, Conway and Isabella Quade, and Sam Painter; sisters, Elinor Gerdeman (Doug), and Peggy Cooper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, H. Malcolm Giles Jr., and Thomas S. Massie, who both loved her dearly, and a sister, Irene C. Bell
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Fairmont Crossing for years of care, as well as to Centra Hospice.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2024, in Jonesboro Cemetery by Pastor Dan Magan.
